Rev. Dr. Victor Eseme Sona is an ordained pastor, a passionate humanitarian, philanthropist, seasoned social development and community advocate with over 25years of experience in ministry and social development in Cameroon, USA, Australia, and beyond. He has positively impacted numerous lives, inspiring hope and transformation in diverse capacities as a mental health and psychosocial support expert, healthcare service provider, peer educator, and mentor for the spiritual, personal growth, and development of individuals. His vision and leadership have been instrumental in founding and guiding the organization.
He is the Founder and Chief Executive Director of Global Action for Education and Rehabilitation (GAERE), a legally registered civil society organization in Cameroon and the USA, aimed at restoring dignity and opportunity to vulnerable children and families through education, health care, psychosocial support, livelihood empowerment, and rehabilitation. The vision for GAERE was birthed in 2018, during one of Rev. Dr. E. Sona’s prayer sessions. He witnessed firsthand the painful realities of poverty, displacement, and lost potential among youth, women, children, and families. Moved by compassion and conviction, he established GAERE as a faith-driven response to rebuild shattered lives and give hope where despair had taken root.
Since its founding, Rev. Dr. E. Sona’s leadership has guided GAERE to impact over 5,000 lives across Cameroon, the USA, Australia, and beyond through transformative initiatives such as the mentorship and capacity building initiatives, Sports and recreation programs, educational scholarship supports, livelihood training programs, psychosocial counseling, and empowerment projects for orphans, widows, and internally displaced persons. A strategic and compassionate leader, Rev. Dr.Victor E. Sona combines his pastoral heart with deep expertise in community development, organizational leadership, and social impact programming. His vision is clear: to see every child, youth, woman, and vulnerable family can thrive in safety, dignity, and self-reliance.
Rev. Dr. Sona continues to champion collaboration, faith, and evidence-based action as the pillars of sustainable change. Through GAERE, he is not only building programs but shaping a movement; one that restores hope, rebuilds futures, and reminds every person that their story can be rewritten for good.
